The current study focuses on designing the optimal three-dimensional printed sandwich structures. main goal is to improve energy absorption capacity of out-of-plane honeycomb beam. novel Beta VI and Alpha were designed in order achieve this aim. In VI, connecting curves (splines) used instead four diagonal walls, while two vertical walls remained unchanged. a step forward which was promoted by filleting all angles among created arcs, face sheets. offered structures have not hitherto been provided literature. All models simulated CATIA ABAQUS, respectively. printer fabricated samples fused deposition modeling technique. material properties determined under tensile, compression, three-point bending tests. results are carried out methods based experimental tests finite element analyses that confirmed each other. achievements provide insights into determination adequate number unit cells demonstrate 23.7% 53.9%, respectively, higher than
